Regular tinted lenses simply darken your overall view by reducing light intensity uniformly. They cannot distinguish between useful light and harmful reflected glare.
Polarized lenses, on the other hand, contain a special filter that blocks horizontally polarized light — the type of glare reflected off roads, water, snow, and glass. This results in sharper vision, richer colors, and less eye fatigue.
Polarized lenses are highly recommended for driving, fishing, and skiing, but may cause screen darkening on LCD displays.
When choosing, always look for the UV400 label to ensure full ultraviolet protection.
