Why Polarized Lenses Are Unsafe in Low-Light Settings ?

Polarized lenses are designed for bright daylight — never for nightclubs, bars, or any dimly lit setting.

The reason is simple: polarized lenses block a significant portion of incoming light. In low-light environments, this drastically reduces visibility, making it harder to see people, obstacles, and exits. Additionally, polarized filters can cause LED screens, neon signs, and laser lights to appear dimmed, distorted, or completely blacked out.

For low-light settings, the best choice is a clear resin lens with an anti-reflective (AR) coating, which maximizes light transmission while reducing glare from artificial lighting.
